YMMV / A Certain Scientific Railgun Ep 10 Silent Majority

YMMV

  • Harsher in Hindsight: The self-doubt and despair suffered by people like Saten, who feel like they're somehow defective for being unable to develop powers, becomes this in light of the revelations in volume 22 of A Certain Magical Index. In effect, Academy City is sabotaging their power development because their potential abilities aren't deemed sufficiently "useful".
  • The Woobie: Saten, if possible even more so than last episode. She watches her friend fall into a coma, simultaneously realizing that it's not only her fault, but that she's probably going to suffer the same fate. She calls Uiharu and confesses, sobbing, admitting how scared and alone she feels. She adds that she thought she must be defective for being a Level 0, but didn't have the courage to use Level Upper without dragging her friends into it too. Uiharu tries to reassure her and rushes straight over, only to find Saten has already collapsed, clutching the good luck charm which her mother gave her to keep her safe.
