• Alternate Character Interpretation: Why did Sun-woo spare the lives of Hee-soo and her lover, even though it would ruin his life? Was it pity for the couple? Was it because of a kind of code that he follows, since the couple are innocent civilians instead of the armed criminals he usually kills? Or is he just in love with her? Sun-woo's own boss is as perplexed as the viewer, and the film does not give any definitive answer.
