Lily isn't the first patient Dr. Hunter has deliberately killed.
Dr. Hunter frames Nic for Lily's murder by overdosing Lily on potassium. In the pilot, Conrad tells Devin about a child he once killed via medical error— a cancer patient who was given too much potassium. Given Dr. Hunter's role as Conrad's mentor, it's reasonable to think she asked him to administer the potassium, specifically so she could blame Annabeth's death on a first-year resident screwing up. As for why, it was likely the same reason Dr. Hunter killed Lily— her parents wanted a second opinion and Dr. Hunter couldn't risk her shady treatment practices getting out.- Confirmed, considering how she got implicated in a fraud scheme.
