  • Vic Fontaine could be a holodeck novel writer in the prime universe and used his appearance to model the lounge singing holocharacter (similar to how Doctor Zimmerman is a model for the Mark 1 version of the Holodoctor) which gets distributed to Federation customers, while in the mirror universe he has no such job and instead is a pirate or mercenary of some sort who is an enemy to the mirror universe Julian Bashir (and probably an enemy to the whole of the Terran Resistance).
    • The main page points out (and as seen in the episode still) that Mirror-Vic is actually an android, not a human. That said, a similar turn of events could have involved the real Mirror-Vic creating an android of himself rather than a holocharacter, and that android could have gone rogue a la Lore to become a pirate or mercenary. Alternatively, the human Vic could have made an android copy (or even more than one!) of himself for some other, sinister reason, or even to specifically have backups in case something went wrong during a mercenary job or pirate raid.
