  • Teddy isn't really Russian at all. That's the reason his accent's so bad; it's fake.

The Final Hand
We all know that Mike wins with a 10 high straight, 8-9 in hand, but what did KGB have? Based on his blase attitude preflop, where he casually calls a min-raise, he presumably has a pocket pair. The flop makes Mike's straight (10, 7, 6; all different suits), so when he checks the flop, KGB bets into him, either with an overpair or top set, giving him 10s, Jacks, Queens, Kings or Aces as his hand. The turn being a deuce only reinforces KGB's belief that Mike has nothing, so bets again into his check. Mike is check calling so he puts him on a draw, either looking for an overcard to make his pair into a set, or to fill up a straight, since the flush can no longer be obtained on the rainbow board. The Ace of Spades on the river, and Mike's quiet check makes KGB overconfident. He didn't hit his set, or missed his straight draw. KGB's hand at this point is either pocket 10s, which gives him the third best hand overall, or pocket Aces, in which case he rivered top set and is only beaten by a straight. He never expected Mike to have the gall to trap him by slow-playing his flopped straight. Hence his anger at his set being beaten.
