DC's Hands and Marvels Beyonders were originally one species similar to the Celestials and the Aspirants of which The Brothers were members. Around the time the Fourth Cosmos ended The Brothers started a civil war because one half wanted to build more Multiverses creating a greater Omniverse and the other half were committed to staying in The Beyond and Monitoring the original.
