The Heroes die in the Final Battle.

Nehani uses the Ring of Solomon to revive Knight and the baby dragon, sacrificing her life in return. They defeated Xizan eventually, but didn't manage to escape the massive explosion in the end. The ending sequence is actually Knight's Dying Dream, showing him what he wanted to do after their journey is over: living together with Nehani and Baby in Orgo Village. The reason Nehani is depicted as a human girl is because she confessed her love (and her wish) to him right before the final battle.
