  • What Could Have Been:
    • The original design of the game was to have a capital city for each race, independently being built up and attacked during the standard World vs World progression of each set of zones; one side or the other being able to sack all three cities at the same time would have bestowed near-Game-Breaker buffs to the victorious faction. Various delays during development lead to the team focusing just on the Empire/Chaos cities, and promising that the first or second major content patch would include the other four; by the game's shutdown, still just two cities existed.
    • Early in development, there was to be no "standard" level system; you could tell how advanced someone was by their looks (Dwarves got longer/fancier beards, Orcs got bigger and darker green, etc) but was later dropped due to various factors and reverted to the standard "get XP, gain levels". Certain aspects were kept; the Magus' flying disc gets progressively fancier, the Marauder's arm-mutations consume more and more of him, etc.
