• What Could Have Been: This episode was originally going to be the Generation 1 cartoon's first attempt to introduce the Matrix into its continuity. In the finished episode, Starscream merely laments that none of the Decepticons can read "Ancient Autobot". In the script, however, Megatron can read the language, and translates it, discovering that the Thirteenth Legion came to Antilla during "the first millennium after the creation of the Autobot Matrix". Starscream dates this to five hundred thousand years before they left for Earth (which is to say, 4.5 million years ago).
