• Real-Life Relative: Maggie and Sharon are played by real-life sisters, though their characters are not related. The actors playing PJ and her father Arthur are actual daughter and father.
• Throw It In!: The theme of cats was not intended to be in the film and emerged during production. In one of the first shots filmed for the movie, a cat just happened to wander into frame. The filmmakers then began adding more and more cats to scenes on a lark, including the "Glamourpuss" scene, which was a picture found in the antique store of a producer.
