  • Troubled Production: Frank Sinatra left in the middle of production to campaign for Pat Brown in the 1966 California gubernatorial election. While back in the States, he decided he didn't want to return to Europe and said he wanted to film the rest of his scenes in Hollywood. Director Sidney J. Furie and producer Brad Dexter were angered by this and decided to finish the film by shooting Sinatra's stand-in from strategic angles to hide his face and splice in footage from previously shot scenes while using a soundalike to dub in the necessary lines. The tensions this all caused led to Sinatra and Warner Bros. severing their association.
