• Defictionalization: In the one-gender races like Arachne, orcs, minotaurs, etc., the narrative states that their genes magically "eat" the DNA of the other species so the offspring are always orc, arachne, etc., while the other race's genetic makeup is overwritten. It sound ridiculous, but it actually happens in reality and is part of an ongoing research project to bring an end to malaria by either rendering the species of mosquito which transmits the plasmoid parasite extinct, or unable to transmit the disease. The project is still being treated with great caution as the genetic change would be irreversible and the collateral damage, if any, is still not understood.
