• What Could Have Been: Originally, the author had intended to write a story about Emiya and someone else in Skyrim, but got sick of it despite having a full plot outline and dozens of ideas for the story, and instead just decided to write out the beginning to Man off the Moon based on a few concept notes he had lying around. He cites trying to handle the Elder Scrolls as being major factor of making the idea tiresome, and he thought making a Mass Effect crossover would be much simpler.
