Trivia / Let Me Call You Sweetheart

  • Technology Marches On: The technology present in the novel is what really gives away that it was published in 1995; no one owns a cellphone, lots of people - especially main protagonist Kerry - use car phones, aspiring photographer Robin uses a Polaroid camera to take pictures, Robin is excited about the Hoovers getting her computer games on CD-ROM, and while doing research Kerry and her investigator tend to rely on things like old newspapers and hardcopies of transcripts rather than the internet.
  • Write Who You Know: In the foreword, Mary Higgins Clark stated she partly modelled Robin on her own granddaughter Liz, who was ten years old during the writing of the novel; she would sometimes ask Liz how she might react to certain situations and used that as a basis for Robin's character.
