Trivia / Laura Nyro

Go To

  • No-Hit Wonder: While other artists had hits with her songs (see Covered Up on the YMMV page), her own highest-charting single (a Cover Version of "Up on the Roof", from Christmas and the Beads of Sweat) peaked at #92 pop and #30 AC.
  • What Could Have Been: After Al Kooper left Blood, Sweat & Tears following their debut album, Nyro auditioned to be their new lead singer, and the band offered her the job, but her then-manager David Geffen talked her out of it. They still had a big hit with their version of "And When I Die".
