Trivia / Jo Dee Messina

Go To

  • Breakthrough Hit: The one-two punch of "Bye, Bye" and "I'm Alright".
  • Bury Your Art: She supposedly withdrew her 2007 single "Biker Chick" because she hated the song.
  • Chart Displacement: Her longest-lasting #1 hit and highest Hot 100 entry is "That's the Way", which is nowhere near as famous as "I'm Alright", "Bye, Bye", "Bring On the Rain", or even "Heads Carolina, Tails California" or "Lesson in Leavin'", the latter two of which only got to #2 on the country charts.
  • Missing Episode: "I'm Done", her last Top 40 entry to date, never appeared on an album.
  • Referenced by...: Cole Swindell's "She Had Me at Heads Carolina," naturally references "Heads Carolina, Tails California." The tune is basically the same, but with lyrics about falling in love with a girl who chooses it for karaoke.
