• Cancellation: The original run of Gil was cancelled when Norm didn't have time to continue it. After being uncancelled due to the comic being relaunched in newspapers by King Features Syndicate, Gil was once again cancelled due to not enough newspapers running the comic. The Providence Journal has uncancelled Gil because of the outpouring of support following King Features Syndicate's cancellation of the comic.
