  • Banned in China: The film was banned in China for (among others) referencing events that happened in 1989 at Tiananmen Square. During the ending, Ling Ling-chat's blade (which was portrayed in film as a tool for slaughtering pigs) has been emblazoned with the calligraphy of Deng Xiaoping "Hero of the Nation" (this title had been given to the squad that participated in the Tiananmen Square massacre). Throughout the film, there were references satirizing the Chinese Communist Party.
