  • Two of the comic strip's original companions were created by the magazine's readers as part of official competitions; Heather McCrimmon, who travelled with the Tenth Doctor for the remainder of his tenure following Donna's departure, and Decky Flamboon, who travelled with the Eleventh Doctor for the brief period between Amy and Rory's departure and Clara's arrival.
  • The design of the Eleventh Doctor's new bow tie in The Very Cool Bow Tie! was also the winning entry of a competition.
• Schedule Slip: The magazine was forced to become a bimonthly publication for the final year or so of its run. This resulted in the ongoing comic strip, which at the time featured the Twelfth Doctor travelling with comic-exclusive companion Jata, to be released at a much slower rate, leading to Jata remaining as the companion even after Bill Potts' introduction on television. This also resulted in Jata's story remaining unresolved when the magazine was discontinued.
