• The Cast Showoff: One of the main draws of the film is the immense musical talents of its cast. Mackie Empuerto, Devon Seron, Vance Larena, and Ryle Santiago are all very well-known for their singing abilities.
• Meta Casting: Like his character Philip, who composes songs but isn't as musically excellent or confident as his brothers, Nikko Natividad is the sole one in the main cast who isn't well-known for his singing abilities.
• Write What You Know: Writer-director Jason Laxamana survived the Mt. Pinatubo eruption of 1991, the ruinous consequences of which forced his family to flee elsewhere. He was a "bakwit boy" himself.
