• While the ultimate fate of the Towers is never mentioned, it hangs over the entire film. Contrasting Petit's feat of joy, triumph, and daring with the horror and sorrow of 9/11 may provoke tears at random points throughout the film, particularly during the walk itself.
  • This is maybe most poignant near the end, when the camera shows the lifetime pass to the World Trade Center observation deck, that Philippe Petit was given after his walk.
