     Singularity F
  • The beginning of the story begins right at The End of Fire route in Dark Souls. Where the Ashen One sits as the darkness comes and the Flame dying at last alongside the planet itself. A bleak reminder that the Ashen One would have died alone in the dark had it not been for hearing the call to save the world in the Grand Order and accepting.

  • While Ritsuka seemingly acts fine, as soon as things calm down, he can't help but stare as Lancer (Medusa) vanishes away from dying. His expression says it all, as he sees death for the first time as a civilian. And is bluntly told by Caster (Cu) to just man up and move on.

     Singularity 1
  • As Ritsuka and his group arrive in the first Singularity, they all meet many soldiers who by this point have given up. A bleak reminder that in the face of fierce power, not all can fight on against the impossible and simply abandon hope.

  • While fighting, Ash meets none other than Gael. But this isn't the Gael he fought alongside with; now he faces a Gael who's summoned as a Berserker. One that can only see Ash having the Dark Soul and maddingly demands for it, not even recalling that the deed had long since been done. Ash can only pity Gael's state and vows to put him down as mercy.

  • When Arkon meets the Nameless King known as Faraam, he doesn't just rage or scream at him. Instead, he simply asks why Faraam, firstborn of Gwyn, one of the Silver Knights' own leaders, betrayed them all when everyone was so loyal to him. Loved him. All Faraam can claim he would have betrayed Gwyn and them eventually, with Arkon just numbly accepting it while prepared to die against him.

    • Later on, Arkon doesn't even get to go out dying against Faraam. Just as Arkon is slowly defeated, but expresses his feelings with Faraam answering, Jeanne Alter comes and simply kills Arkon like so. Even Faraam is enraged by such dishonor.

  • After the Nameless King's identity is revealed, Ash, a Warriors of Sunlight, the very Covenant that Faraam is connected to, can only lament that the person he killed was the only God he respected in his life and didn't even know he killed them. Bitterly admitting that while he'll do it, feels no pleasure that he has to kill Faraam again.

  • As Faraam awaits in the night, he could only bemoan that the only reason he joined Jeanne Alter was to see if just maybe he could gain some insight on Gwyn's actions through her and perhaps see if he was wrong when fighting against his father Potentially even find that perhaps he didn't have to betray his father and find another solution. Instead, all he has is being stuck with Jeanne Alter and her inane orders for no reason at all.

     Singularity 2
  • In the second Singularity, the group meets Rider, Quelaag. Both a daughter of Izalith and a demon with a disfigured lower half in the form of a giant spider. Despite not seeking trouble, even helping out, if reluctantly, it's made clear she's orchestrated from the normal people and soldiers. Aside from Mash and Ritsuka, almost nobody really likes her, she is seen as a monster by everyone, and both the soldiers and some Servants think she should be killed. When walking in Rome, the civilians assume she's a prisoner and throw trash and food at her for no reason other than making her a scapegoat.

  • As everyone is making plans, Ritsuka has the time to realize that his Servants and allies, while showing a jovial side, just as easily become threatening and willing to kill. He asks Aulus how anybody handles killing out of fear both he and Mash can become like that.

  • When Ash speaks about his Fire Keeper, Cecilia, he briefly talks about Greirat. He immediately shuts up about him and leaves glumly. All while blaming himself for the man's death.

  • Despite Lev's betrayal, Olga still held out some form of hope that perhaps Lev wasn't in control, or anything to deny the idea he purposely killed her. Aldrich, having eaten and absorbed Lev, merrily claims that Lev not only was always a demon, but he only ever saw her as a pathetic girl who could achieve nothing when compared to greater magus, such as Wodime. Even after 'Lev's' death, Olga experiences no joy.
    • It's worse when one realizes that Lev was a caring man once…except by the time he met Olga, Flauros had taken full control by then.

     Singularity 3
  • Oscar, one of the new Servants to ally with Chaldea, makes it clear he sees little worth in himself. Beyond helping the Chosen Undead who would accomplish what Oscar set out to do originally, the undead can only see himself as a failure who stumbled at the very beginning. Making his death all the harder for Ritsuka and Mash.
  • Throughout the Singularity, it's slowly made clear that Ash is unable to care for superficial things or even the small joys in life. Unable to see the wonders of either nature or adventures. All he sees, as Drake points out, is doing his duty and nothing more.
  • When speaking about Ash's past encounter with Halflight, Ash admits that together with Gael, they both entered the Ringed City and wiped it out together. Everybody died either by their hand or when Ash woke Filianore to take the Dark Soul from her, aging everyone to dust. The reactions from everybody range from shock to disgust, with both Mash and Ritsuka, upon hearing this, having their perspective on Ash change ever slightly and can't help but feel disturbed.
  • In a rare moment of opening up, upon Ash's reveal of killing Filianore, Havel admits to David that he was there when all of Gwyn's children were born. He reminisces of her and all the others. Then mourns that it was better she died, as by the time she woke up her father was dead, her brothers perished, and her sister never visited.
  • Ash reveals his relationship with Greirat to Drake. A thief that never stole for himself and Ash's first friend as the two got closer. He then became his last friend when the man died. Ash admitted that he asked Greirat to explore Lothric Castle for any good items only to find his corpse when he didn't come back. Ever since then, Ash sees 'desires' as things that will only get people killed and never made another friend.
  • By the end of the Singularity, upon discovering that King Solomon is the enemy, Olga can only enter her room and has Stahl leave. She immediately begins bawling and cries that the situation isn't her fault. Crying that she can still do a good job at what's suggested to be her father's picture, the stress of the Grand Order clearly getting to her.

     Singularity Scandinavia
  • Near the beginning of the story, readers get a good glimpse on why Olga is very much disliked. Those at Chaldea bearing witness Olga outright demanding a Stray Servant to just serve her, forcibly making a contract with them, then cuts him off when he tries apologizing. The Chaldean workers make it clear they're only working with her to resolve the Singularity, not because they like her. With Olga fully aware of this and believes that nobody even trusts her in doing things right.
  • At a first glance, when Tarkus talks about his death, he simply tries putting it off as a joke. Later on, as he's dying, it's suggested that not only was he heavily injured when he fell, but died slowly and painfully. Alone.
  • Torin's past is revealed to be quite tragic. Alongside his people, he and those before him lived in the forests of Millwood in peace while occasionally fighting off Kalameet. Then it's revealed Kalameet had simply just been holding back his actual strength and quite easily kills all but Torin. Leaving the poor man alone with the burnt remains of family, friends, and whatever was left of his home.
  • Kalameet's and his perspective of the Everlasting Dragons past is nothing short but wretched. Originally, they were neither happy or sad, not knowing anything and merely just existed. Then the Flame was born, bringing forth life…which ended in their collective death as the Gods came. Where, from the dragons viewpoint, the Gods and Silver Knights began slaughtering them with lightning, fire, disease, and their blades until their race was all but extinct all while the dragons screamed until they died.
  • The ending of the Scandinavia Singularity has Olga facing Kalameet where the two prepare to give it their all while both having grown during their stay in the Singularity. Only for Kalameet to die, not at the hands of Olga, but from the very person that summoned him. A grown Arleno, who then cruelly derides Kalameet dreams and goals, has him commit suicide, and leaves like so. Asked to be killed, Olga complies and leaves the Singularity knowing she was not only used, but her victory against Kalameet leaves a poor taste in her as Olga returns to Chaldea.
