The Second Polaroid
Clay discovers Justin is hooked on heroin and knows he needs to get clean before he can testify in court. Tony asks for help from Sheri as he can't be near drugs due to him being on probation. Sheri agrees to help, having learned a few things in juvenile. She agrees to stay in Clay's room to take care of Justin whilst Clay is out.
Alex and Jessica take Zach's car and skip school, heading to the cinema before ending up at the Baker's pharmacy. They awkwardly meet Hannah's parents, who seem to be arguing. When they leave, it's clear that Olivia and Andy aren't together anymore. Olivia is adamant she will keep fighting for Hannah's justice, with support from Jackie. Andy says he doesn't want them to lose any more than they already have.
Jessica and Alex share a kiss on the beach but Jessica pulls away before anything gets too passionate. She pushes him away and acknowledges that the reason she pulled away is not to do with him. When he gets home, Alex's parents are angry that he's skipped school just days after returning. He then demands Clay to give him the tapes that lead to his attempted suicide so he can piece together what he can't remember. Clay is unsure of what to do with Hannah's ghost telling him not give the tapes. Clay decides to go against her wish.
Marcus takes the stand next. He is shown to still be as self-serving as before, lying on the stand about the Valentine's date he had with Hannah. It's shown that Marcus groped Hannah during their date as a $100 bet, orchestrated by Bryce. Hannah is also shown to react more aggressively during school the next day. After overhearing Marcus and others talking about her, Hannah grabs Marcus in the hallways and threatens him, showing she once had the will to fight back against the bullies. Marcus tells the court that Hannah had rejected him because she actually liked Bryce and wanted Marcus to set her up with him instead. When Bryce asks Marcus why he made it up, Marcus says that if Hannah's rape is brought up, this would give people reason to not believe her and side with Bryce.
Tyler and Cyrus decide Marcus needs to be punished and make a paint bomb. Carrying it in a black duffel bag, the bomb goes off in Marcus' face, embarrassing him publicly but ultimately, not physically harming him. The two boys practice shooting guns at bottles in the woods but are spotted by neighbours.
Zach is shown to be seemingly friendly with Bryce out of necessity. It's shown he lost his father a short time ago, causing obvious distraction from studies. Bryce helps him out with answers to a mid-term. If Zach failed it, he would lose his place on the baseball team. After practice, Zach discovers a dead rat in his gym bag; another anonymous message to keep quiet.
Clay receives a second Polaroid. This time it shows Bryce, naked from the waist down, standing over a semi-conscious girl. The back reads, "He won't stop.."
