A month has passed . . .
Simon pays his final respects to Kamina before he and Yoko return to the Dai-Gurren for the final battle with Teppelin, now in its sixth day.Cytomander in Dai Gunten attacks from the air but Team Dai Gurren, their gunmen equipped with flying engines, handle the enemy enough for Gurren Lagann to destroy them. Cytomander in his Shuzack along four other gunmen surround Gurren Lagann. Suddenly, an army of gunmen flying the Dai-Gurren flag arrive to decimate Cytomander's forces. The Dai-Gurren rams into Shuzack, destroying it with Cytomander, causing it to fall on Guame's Dai-Gundo.
The Dai-Gundo, however, survives to move towards Teppelin where it starts to spin, producing an energy whirlwind that devastates the human forces. Suddenly, a projection of Nia from the Dai-Gurren urges everyone to stop and leave everything to Simon in Gurren Lagann, for, as Nia puts it, Simon's drill is "the drill that pierces the heavens!"
Indeed, Gurren Lagann drills through the ground, managing to reach beneath Dai-Gundo. Simon manages to drill through Guame's fortress and destroys it.
No sooner has Team Dai-Gurren achieved victory than Teppelin seems to be falling apart. To everyone's shock, a face can be seen . . .
