Tropes
- Foreshadowing: Watch where the bullets the Reds & Blues shoot at Kalirama hit her. The fact that the impacts cause blue spots to appear for a second where they hit hints at the Cosmic Powers' true natures as advanced Monitors with their 'bodies' being merely holograms.
- Laborious Laziness: Grif resorts to this to avoid what seems like the Call to Adventure; When their ship gets a call from Locus, he crashes the ship. He also chooses a longer, more peaceful path as opposed to a shorter, spookier one. Simmons calls this, "Pre-emptive laziness."
- Party Scattering: Due to Kalirama's attack and the time-travel portals only able to fit two at once, the Reds and Blues end up split apart.
- "Shaggy Dog" Story: Despite Grif's best efforts, by the time the Reds and Blues get to the pizza place, it has been destroyed.
