Go To

Tropes

  • Big Damn Heroes: As Wolfbane and the Cogs have the Rangers on the ropes, a gold streak suddenly starts knocking them down.
  • But Now I Must Go: After Wolfbane is destroyed, the Gold Ranger quietly disappears.
  • Heroic BSoD: Billy openly regrets not having powers any more and not being able to help in the field.
  • In Medias Res: The episode begins with the Rangers already morphed, searching for a couple of different distress signals.
  • Monster of the Week: Wolfbane is a particularly tough example.
  • Outside-Context Problem: Neither the Rangers nor the villains know where the Gold Ranger came from, who he is, what he wants, and why he helped in the fight. Even the Rangers aren't quite sure if he's even an ally because he wouldn't talk to them.
  • Pre-Asskicking One-Liner: "Okay, now it's my turn!"
  • Pre-Mortem One-Liner: "All right, Wolfbane, I'm tired of playin' around with you!"
  • Tempting Fate:
    • Wolfbane brags the five Rangers are powerless against him. Cue the new arrival.
    • After beating back the Zeo Megazord and Red Battlezord, Wolfbane derides the Gold Ranger as puny and no match for him. The Gold Ranger then summons his own Zord.
  • The Unreveal: It's never confirmed where the hell Billy decided to slink off to just before Wolfbane's second attack. For that matter, the rangers don’t think to probe further despite his absence potentially causing them further issues.
