Because of the very warm winter, the KikoRiki island is covered with puddles, into one of which Olga falls. Carlin pulls her out and complains that the winter feels like more like a spring this year, just without the actual joys of spring. Olga says she read about it in the newspaper. This is global warming; soon all the icebergs will melt and flood everything. Later, Carlin and Olga are warming themselves by the fireplace, joined by Rosa reading the newspaper aloud. She learns that a severe cold snap will come very soon. Wally calls Rosa to take a boat ride with him, but suddenly the promised cold snap begins and the whole valley is covered with a layer of ice.

Krash and Chiko are warming themselves by the stove, but the firewood is running out, so Krash decides to find some new ones. As soon as he leaves the house, he immediately slips and slides on the ice all the way to Pin’s hangar. Pin is just finishing sharpening the skates for Rosa when Krash drives into the hangar and asks them for firewood. Soon all KikoRiki began to move on skates.

March is coming, but the ice is not melting. Carlin complains that it now feels like a real winter. Olga notes that she has read about it. This is a new ice age, and the winter is here to stay. Suddenly, Carlin falls through the ice and rejoices that it has begun to melt. Olga pulls it out and says it's global warming again. The final shot shows that the island of KikoRiki is a huge iceberg floating on the sea.

Tropes:

  • Bowdlerise: Originally, Carlin's line "You have such an imagination. What is all this about a new ice age?" that was addressed to Olga after she said that a large meteorite landed somewhere which caused a neverending winter was originally Carlin replying that it's actually nuclear winter. The dialogue was changed due to its risky nature.
  • Failures on Ice: Wally is completely unable to skate.
