Lucius is at his personal golf course practicing for the 806th Miseryville Open. As a small crowd of monsters watches with interest, Lucius takes his shot, and Samy digs out a pathway for the ball that scores Lucius an easy hole-in-one. After that quick stunt (and convincing the crowd to cheer at Lucius' "feat"), Samy puts on a reporter costume and announces with his co-host - a ventriloquist puppet he has dubbed Humphrey Von Sidekick - that the tournament has officially begun. Playing against Lucius this year are Jimmy (voluntary) and a two-headed, Italian-accented demon named Luigi-Paolo (forced; Lucius wanted a foursome). Lucius announces to them that the tee-off begins at noon.

While waiting for the gold game to begin, Jimmy hangs with Beezy and Heloise, who both came to spectate. However, Heloise is a little concerned for Jimmy, because the boy clearly has no idea how to play golf. Meanwhile, Samy and Humphrey look back on last year's golf game, warning viewers that Lucius does not take losing lightly. The last monster who beat him ended up being swept away in a lava tsunami caused by a gigantic, morbidly obese demon commanded by Miseryville's ruler to cannonball those who defeat him in golf. The golf game begins shortly afterwards, with Luigi-Paolo taking the first shot. He is quickly eliminated from the game along with his ball by piranhas Samy summoned with a handy remote. Lucius goes next, with his hole-in-one being scored by Samy taking the ball, running through the piranha-infested river (and barely surviving), and dropping the ball into the hole. Finally Jimmy takes his turn, but Heloise has him use one of her remote-controlled golf balls. Jimmy takes his shot and Heloise presses the remote, causing the ball to fly directly through the piranhas and into the hole, to Samy's shock and Lucius' anger.

The next hole has a giant bladed windmill blocking the way, When Lucius takes his shot, Samy grabs the ball and launches himself through the air with a great gust of wind, flying through the blades and dropping the ball into the hole. Jimmy's turn is set at a different hole, which is surrounded by bear traps. As Jimmy's ball rolls through the traps, Heloise activates a rocket that explodes into pieces that trigger the traps before they can destroy the ball, giving Jimmy another easy hole-in-one. Lucius is even more furious than before, and Samy starts scolding Heloise for helping Jimmy win. Given that Lucius isn't much better at golf than Jimmy, Heloise sees no difference from what Samy is doing, but Lucius' henchdemon warns her that Jimmy will be the one paying the price if Lucius loses - and it won't be pretty. Concerned for Jimmy's life, Heloise decides to switch tactics.

The Miseryville Open goes on for many more holes, with Samy helping Lucius win (and then getting harmed by the course's obstacles). At the exploding chicken hole, Heloise switches out Jimmy's golf club for a vacuum cleaner, but by sheer luck, Jimmy manages to get his ball in the hole anyway when the vacuum launches him at the hole. With Lucius needing a timeout to cool down from Jimmy's latest victory, Jimmy has a chat with Beezy about his dad's golfer rage. Beezy is fully aware of this and shows his friend the full extent of his dad's anger at losing. Realizing he doesn't want to get swept away in a lava tsunami, Jimmy decides he'll have to change how he plays.

At the final hole, the score is perfectly tied and Lucius is in a very, very bad mood. Trying to lose the game himself, Jimmy makes his worst shot yet. Unfortunately, the ball ends up bounding all over the course and then hurtling directly towards the hole. Thankfully, Samy acts quickly, pulling out a remote that causes the hole to spew fire and incinerate Jimmy's golf ball seconds before a hole-in-one. Heloise then gives Lucius one of her remote-controlled golf balls from earlier. But seconds before the ball can reach the hole, the ball goes dead and lands inches from the hole. Heloise's remote has runs out of power ("LOUSY RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES!!!"). The infuriated Lucius calls for a cannonball-created tsunami, but Jimmy calls for the spectators to begin jumping. Everybody starts jumping up and down, and their tremors cause Lucius' ball to roll into the hole. Disaster has been averted.

As Samy and Humphrey collapse with relief, Lucius' mood is uplifted by his victory. Jimmy isn't bummed out at all though, and he runs off with the monster crowd to celebrate the intense game. As Lucius gloats, Jimmy climbs up the diving board where that gigantic, super-obese demon stands when awaiting orders to cannonball. However, he makes the mistake of leaning on the giant demon's flab, which accidentally pushes the monster off the diving board and creating a tsunami anyway. As Jimmy joins the dive into the lava, Lucius finds himself swept away and then being chased after piranhas.

Misery Inc. is mass-producing statuettes of Lucius, which Samy explains to Jimmy and Beezy, as they toy around with them, are miniature versions of the latest statue of Miseryville's ruler. However, Jimmy and Beezy still refuse to take Samy's words seriously, but Lucius soon interrupts their fooling around with an announcement. He's going to have the statue unveiled at a party, and he wants Beezy to come with someone. And by someone, Lucius means a date - a girlfriend. While Lucius doesn't believe his son will ever find a lady who likes him, Beezy is determined to prove his dad wrong. Even so, he's still gonna need Jimmy's help.

Interrupting the story is a dating advice show hosted by Dr. Scientist. However, Heloise quickly and violently usurps his hosting to give some tips of her own. First, cast a wide net, which is exactly what Jimmy is having Beezy do, despite Beezy's concerns that his characteristics aren't attractive to girls. Jimmy believes otherwise and sets off to introduce all the women in Miseryville to Beezy. Unfortunately for Jimmy, Beezy's brand of sloth and stupidity isn't a hit at all with the lady monsters, who respond only with slaps to Jimmy's face. However, Beezy remains hopeful that one female Miseryvillian will find him attractive for who he is.

Back on Dr. Scientist's show, Heloise gives her second dating tip: "In Miseryville, if you can't find someone good enough, lower your standards." Jimmy ends up putting Heloise's tip to the test when he runs into Saffi, an orange, one-eyed demon who eats, talks, and acts like a crazy animal. Jimmy quickly brings her to Beezy's place, where Saffi is instantly smitten by Beezy's "smoothy-smooth" skin. Beezy is initially uninterested, but soon changes his minded when he sees Saffi up close and finds they have similar tastes. Realizing he's found a match, Jimmy brings Saffi and Beezy to the park, where the two monsters find themselves falling deeper and deeper in love with each other as they share flowers, ride around the park, and play fetch with Cerbee - all at Jimmy's expense. The three eventually go to Saffi's place. As Saffi smashes up Lucius statuettes, Beezy asks her to come to his dad's statue unveiling. Saffi simply responds with smashing another statuette, which Beezy takes as a yes. Meanwhile, Lucius is at his office calling his own girlfriend Jez, who agrees to come as Lucius' date solely for the party.

Back on Dr. Scientist's dating advice segment, Heloise has one last tip for everyone: "If you end up with a rotten date, GET OUT OF THERE AS FAST AS YOU CAN!". It then cuts to a diner, where Jimmy and Heloise are observing Beezy and Saffi. Heloise notes that Saffi is more than a little loopy and that she seems to be obsessed with destroying the Lucius statuettes. Concerned what Saffi's behavior could mean, Jimmy tries to convince Beezy not to bring Saffi, but his pleas go ignored by his best friend.

That night, Beezy, Lucius, and a number of other monsters are gathered around the draped-over statue awaiting the unveiling (and their dates in the former pair's case). Jez soon arrives being carried in by Lucius' Minotaurs, but Saffi (who Jimmy has been desparately trying to convince to turn back him) crashes through the new arrivals, knocking Jez into a pond and greeting her boyfriend. As Lucius frantically tries to calm down a furious Jez, Saffi goes about destroying other replicas of Lucius in the area, which Beezy ignores, despite Jimmy warning him that Saffi might be planning to do the same to the real Lucius. The unveiling commences shortly afterwards, but as Lucius and Jez prepare to pull off the drapes, Jimmy spots Saffi rushing for Lucius. He makes a mad dash for Miseryville's dictator in an attempt to save her from the cyclops girl, but Saffi just jumps over Lucius and Jez, who are instead pushed into the pond by Jimmy. Saffi then unleashes her loudest "CRUSH!" and mightiest punch, turning Lucius' new statue into a pile of tiny fragments.

As a soaked and wailing Jez runs away from Lucius, Miseryville's evil ruler demands Jimmy to explain himself. Jimmy tells him he thought Saffi was going to crush him, but Saffi (speaking normally for once) explains to them she just hates statues. Beezy then introduces Saffi to his dad, explaining Jimmy set them up. Furious, Lucius has Jimmy put his destroyed statue back together piece by piece. As Jimmy works, he decides he's done with matchmaking. However, Heloise loudly wonders if he'll make an exception for her. Jimmy, of course, doesn't get what she means, and the frustrated Heloise leaves before punching the statue hard enough to rock it. The statue remains intact, but Jimmy's relief immediately ends when Saffi smashes right through it and lands straight in Beezy's arms. As the demon lovebirds share another moment together, Jimmy complains that they should go be affectionate somewhere else.
