A whiskey-tasting event at Woodstone is soured by a bureaucratic hiccup.
Tropes:
- Comically Missing the Point: After Sam breaks a hole in the wall to get at the bootleg whiskey, she also finds a long dead opossum. When a letter is later found alongside the whiskey, Thor asks if the opossum had a pen pal.
- Death of a Child: When Benjamin Franklin asks Isaac how he is doing, he responds by stating that everything is fine, and that three of his five nephews survived the winter. Benjamin Franklin is pleased to hear it. At the time, infant and child mortality was quite high.
- Flashback B-Plot: Isaac tells the other ghosts about his being a Freemason alongside Benjamin Franklin, and tries to start a similar ghost fraternity. Several scenes set in 1773 show that Isaac was hoping Franklin would offer him fraternity membership, when all he wants from Isaac is the use of his horse-drawn carriage. Present day Isaac admits he was never a Freemason and that he is resentful of Franklin.
- Historical Domain Character: Benjamin Franklin is featured in the flashbacks as he was an acquaintance of Isaac.
- Shout-Out: While trying to figure out a way to get at the bootleg whiskey hidden behind the wall without the liquor license agent hearing them in the next room, Jay decides to use a method from The Shawshank Redemption to cover up the noise.
