Walternate activates his doomsday machine, triggering widespread "fringe events" in the prime universe. In an attempt to stop the devastation, Peter enters the corresponding machine the Fringe team has assembled in the prime universe. However, the machine rejects him and knocks him unconscious. Meanwhile, Fauxlivia resolves to save both worlds by bringing Peter back to convince Walternate to stop his machine. She is prevented from entering the prime universe and imprisoned.
