- Drowning My Sorrows: In The Tag, Roz and Fletcher Grey's mother are sharing drinks after their respective partners have lost, with the latter taking an extra sip from Roz's glass while she's not looking.
- Graceful Loser: Fletcher Grey has been nominated for an award eleven years in a row, and has lost every time, but has taken every loss in stride. In comparison, Roz breaks into tears right after Fletcher's latest consolation speech and frets that she'll never be a winner.
- "Shaggy Dog" Story: At the award show, Frasier learns that he's competing against Fletcher Grey, a much more deserving radio personality that's retiring that year, and feels incredibly guilty to the point of willing to concede the award to Fletcher if he wins. When the award is announced, it turns out to be a tie...between the two other nominees for the award.
