Echoes
A psychotropic chemical produced by the Rossum Corporation (the Dollhouse's owner, among other things) infects an entire university campus, rendering students impulsive and erratic. Sierra and Victor are sent to help with the situation, while Echo leaves an unrelated engagement to join them when a news report on TV triggers her memories of infiltrating the Rossum Building as Caroline several years prior, and Topher tries to come up with an antidote using November as a test subject.

- How We Got Here: Averted: the first flashbacks sets up all the following ones as the events leading to Caroline Farell's signing on to the Dollhouse. This is later seen to be false, and flashbacks from season 2 bridge the remaining gap.
- Immune to Drugs: The chemical has no effect on the dolls, since it acts on repressed memories, which dolls lack. Or so Topher thinks, and finds out he is wrong the hard way when November suddenly glitches herself into being Mellie.
- Oh, Crap!: Adelle's look when November triggers her sleeper protocol herself.
