The events of this episode take place on August 15th, 1993, 1994, and 1995.

It is Greg and Cindy's wedding anniversary.

In 1993, Jeanette and Derek prepare their parents breakfast and the entire family celebrates. Later, Jeanette, Mallory, and Vince arrive at the mall to complete another list item: stealing, which Jeanette already did. Jeanette and Mallory sneak into a clothes shop where Tennille's mother Tanya works and prepare to shoplift while Tanya flirts with another customer, none other than Martin. Vince tries stealing a CD, setting off the store's alarm, but Jeanette takes the fall.

She is taken to the "mall jail" where she meets Jamie, who got busted for jumping in the fountain on a dare, and strikes up a conversation. After Greg pulls Jeanette out, she explains the situation to him, and he suggests they keep it a secret. Later, Jeanette complains to Vince that Mallory is too pushy, but Vince refuses to talk behind her back.

Jeanette sneaks into Martin's house once again and tries stealing a CD, only to shut herself in the closet with the stereo and the CDs when Martin suddenly returns home with Tanya, who is bent on seducing him. Tanya starts oversharing, telling about her ex who pays child support, unaware of not being Tennille's biological father. Suddenly, Jeanette inadvertently presses a button on the stereo, turning it on. Tanya distracts Martin and opens the closet, revealing Jeanette. Both promise not to tell what they saw and heard, and Jeanette slips away.

In 1994, Jeanette prepares breakfast alone, while Greg and Cindy's marriage is crumbling due to their now-poor reputation and incessant prank calls. A basket with wine and cheese is delivered to the Turners', which Cindy thinks is for her, but turns out to be from Angela for Greg's help with finding an apartment. At the Petersons', Tanya tells Tennille and Renée that she has been interviewed about Martin Harris.

Tired of the prank calls and still not trusting Jeanette, Cindy searches her room and finds the key to Martin's house taped under her jewellery box. She point-blank asks Jeanette whether she's been to Martin's house and if there's anything true to the rumors about her, which Jeanette denies. Now convinced Jeanette is lying, Cindy gives Greg the key and suggests they could check if it works at night.

Jeanette comes to Vince's video store where he surprises him with Ben. Jeanette agrees to keep their relationship a secret and congratulates Vince. She confides in him that Cindy seems to believe the rumors, and Vince pledges to stay by her side. At this point, Tennille and Renée enter the store. After telling Jeanette they've been screening her calls on purpose, she remembers that Tanya's interview is on right now, and they all tune in to watch it. In the story that Tanya tells, she describes Martin as forceful and violent, which Jeanette can't help but decry, to Tennille and Renée's disgust with her apparently protecting a predator.

Frustrated with not being taken seriously about Jeanette, Cindy announces she will go to stay at her sister's for a while and gives Greg the key to Martin's house, which she already tried. Already upset, Greg is crestfallen when he tries it himself and it works.

In 1995, Jeanette watches videotapes of her family, missing the relationship she once had with her father. Denise drops by to announce they have a problem: Tanya requested to be deposed, claiming to have damning information that could damage Jeanette's character. With Vince's help, Jeanette sneaks out of the house, avoiding the reporters, and goes to meet Tanya at the mall.

Jeanette spends an unexpectedly pleasant night playing cards with Vince and Greg. She gets a phonecall with good news: Tanya had nothing to say. In a flashback to earlier that day, Jeanette threatens to expose Tanya's child support and paternity fraud if she talks.

Cindy comes to Angela's bar to celebrate her wedding anniversary alone and confides in her about Jeanette no longer talking to her. Their friendly conversation is derailed when Angela mentions Greg telling her Cindy left him.
