Recap / Creep School S 1 E 24 Making Up Is Hard To Do

Go To

While Malcolm is working on something in his office, Victoria is cleaning a trophy she won while looking at her reflection in the trophy. Janice points out that Victoria didn't exactly win the trophy entirely fair, but Victoria insists it wasn't on purpose. Outside, Elsa and a few other students come across Miss Dorothy who is getting rid of some old things and tells the students gathered to help themselves to anything they might want.

Elsa comes across a make-up box that Dorothy admits she isn't sure what actually does, as she never got around to using it. Elsa seems impressed by the mirrors in it, even as Dorothy comments that she's not that fond of mirrors herself. However, Victoria comes along and takes the mirror for herself, while giving Elsa a smaller hand mirror from the table. Janice comments on how Victoria basically snatched the mirror away from Elsa, but since Elsa is still grateful for the cute hand mirror Victoria gave her instead, Victoria simply points out that Elsa was happy with what she got.

Victoria begins to examine the contents of the box, trying out some of the make-up in it. Unbeknownst to her, there's something special about the mirror. When she later accidentally breaks a statue, she runs back to her room and tries to assure herself that it's okay, since no one saw her do it and anyone could've broken that old statue. The mirror agrees with Victoria, and Victoria asks just who the mirror is. The mirror introduces itself as a friend who only wants what's best for Victoria, and begins showering Victoria with compliments, telling her not to worry about it and that she's above the rest.

Janice overhears Victoria and wonders if she was talking to herself, before reminding her that it's nearly time for afternoon tea. The mirror tells Victoria it'll wait for her to get back.

On her way, Victoria comes across Malcolm, who shows her the school crest and gives a brief history on it. He says that the crest was supposedly said to grant power to those who touched it. Noticing that it has gotten a bit dusty, he asks if Victoria would be interested in cleaning it, but she turns down the offer.

Victoria meets up with Josh, who is waiting for the others. Victoria notices the cookies Josh's mother has made for him, but he won't give her any. While Josh goes to fetch some milk, Victoria is tempted to try just a little bite, but ends up eating them all by the time he gets back. Victoria tries to shift some of the blame onto Elvira, and returns to her room.

Returning to her room, Victoria admits she feels bad about eating all of Josh's cookies, but the mirror tells her not to feel guilty about it. It manages to convince her not to feel bad, and Victoria hears the bell ring for art class. Victoria expresses annoyance with how Dorothy is also complimenting Elsa on being a great artist. The mirror suggests that Victoria sabotage the competition, but Victoria says she couldn't do that, despite the mirror's insistance.

At art class, as Elsa's painting gets everyone's attention, Victoria recalls the mirror telling her she'd just have to stand in Elsa's shadow, and ends up ruining her painting after all, making it look like an accident.

The next morning, while looking at her face in the mirror, Victoria notices that a strange pink spot has appeared on her face. The mirror simply tells her to cover it with make-up, and Victoria continues to let the mirror's praise get to her head. After Victoria tells the mirror about the crest, it convinces her to take up Malcolm on the offer to clean the school crest after all. She goes to inform Malcolm, but by that point, he has already asked Gunther to do it instead. Malcolm is surprised by Victoria's sudden change of heart, but he insists that it wouldn't be fair to Gunther to let her to do it now.

Victoria ends up tripping Gunther, causing him to fall down the stairs and break his glasses, thus allowing Victoria to polish the crest after all.

Upon returning to her room, Victoria notices that more pink spots are appearing on her face. Victoria wonders what to do about it, and the mirror suggests Victoria steal the crest to obtain its power. At night, Victoria goes to take the crest, but begins to have second thoughts. She ultimately does take it, causing the school to begin falling apart.

As Malcolm and the others begin to evacuate, Victoria runs back to her room and asks what the mirror made her do. The mirror insists it was Victoria who did it on her own, just following the mirror's suggestions. Outside, the others have evacuated, and Elsa notices that Victoria is missing and goes to look for her.

Victoria finally realizes her mistakes, and goes to return the crest. The mirror warns Victoria that if she does so, she'll be ugly forever. Victoria tells the mirror she doesn't care, and that she has to save the school. Victoria returns the crest, and its power saves the school.

As Elsa comes across Victoria and realizes Victoria just saved the school, Victoria covers her face and admits it was her fault this happened in the first place. Victoria runs off, apologizing for her actions, while Elsa chases after her. Elsa finds Victoria crying under a tree in the graveyard, and asks her what's wrong. Victoria doesn't want Elsa to see her, believing herself to be hideous. Once she shows her face to Elsa, Elsa notes that she can't see anything wrong and shows Victoria her reflection in the hand mirror Victoria gave her, revealing that the pink blemishes on Victoria's face have all disappeared, much to her surprise.

Later, Victoria and Elsa go to dispose of the magic mirror, while it protests that Victoria still needs it. Victoria and Elsa throw the magic mirror into the garbage chute, and Elsa offers to let Victoria borrow her hand mirror if she needs it, but Victoria says that while she appreciates the offer, she'll probably avoid mirrors for a while, repeating Dorothy's words from earlier about how their appearances can be deceiving.
