The party enters the arena once again. This time they face a group of snakes. After besting them, the Warden calls out their next opponent: a young woman. She has a collar on her neck, just like the party. Ivan attempts to talk her down, but to no avail. The woman transforms into a werewolf and attacks him. She then begins systematically going through the party. Curiously, none of her attacks actually damage the party. Ivan realizes that in his scuffle his collar was yanked off by the werewolf. Over the course of the fight a weak section of the arena wall breaks, revealing a dark tunnel. The werewolf tosses the party through one by one, destroying the rest of their collars along the way. Once the whole party is through, the werewolf changes back to her human form. She reveals herself to the party as Queen Jeminya of Directian. She was put in the arena by her twin sister, Simula, who has now seized the throne and been acting as Jeminya. The party realizes that Simula must have been the one Warden Wormwood was originally writing the letter to, meaning Simula was the one who ordered their capture. Jeminya then asks the party to join her in a quest to gain allies and take back Directian. All of the members agree for various reasons. With that, they set forth through the tunnel to find a way to the surface. The surface, and freedom...
