Recap / Bluey Escape

Go To

Mum and Dad tell Bluey and Bingo that they're dropping them off at Nana's so they can have some time to themselves. The girls are outraged and imagine an elaborate plan to infiltrate their parent's private time.

Tropes:

  • Art Shift: The sequences where the Heelers' imaginary scenarios play out are depicted in the style of Bluey's drawings, with a simpler, more childish art style and looser animation.
  • Does This Remind You of Anything?: Whether this was intended or not, Bluey and Chili's imaginary game of chasing their parents reflects the narrative of how much kids want to be with their mother and father while their young. Them wanting to escape their resigned parents in the second half of the story reflects how eventually, kids outgrow their parents and want to be away from them.
  • Stealth Pun: The episode is called "Escape". The episode is about Bandit and Chili trying to get away to their get-away.
  • Wanting Is Better Than Having: The better part of the story has Bluey and Bingo try to think up all sorts of ways to catch up to their parents and join them in their vacation. Towards the end of their imaginary game, the parents concede defeat. ...Only for Bingo and Bluey to voice they want the game to go on because it's more fun when their parents are fleeing. After all, it's called "thrill of the chase" for a reason. Afterwards, the tables turn as the parents try to imagine all sorts of ways to catch up to their kids.
