Katie couldn't be more delighted to learn that an old friend and mothering mentor of hers, Tami Gaines, is moving to Westport after having struck it rich inventing easy-tear adhesive tape. But it turns out Tami's not the same dynamite mother she used to be when it comes to her younger daughter Grace, even though she's still capable of giving fantastic advice to Katie and Greg when they discover that Oliver and Cooper are hiding a stash of liquor in their basement apartment. Meanwhile, Taylor learns that Greg has a surprising side hobby he's been hiding from the family for fear that they will ridicule him like they always do, and Anna-Kat decides she's tired of Katie telling embarrassing stories about her childhood.
Holly Robinson Peete makes her first appearance as Tami.
