** "TF2 community, we hear you! We love this game and know you do, too."The now maligned quote from the aforementioned Twitter post has become cynically and ironically quoted/misquoted by the fanbase due to the fact that nothing has changed since regarding the bots/cheaters and that Valve has effectively been radio silent once more ever since.

* The Sex UpdateA nonsensical (likely joke or sarcastic) demand that began springing up on Reddit in 2021 asking for Valve to add the concept of sex itself to Team Fortress 2 (usually known as the "Sex Update"), ignoring the fact that this would obviously bump the game's rating to UsefulNotes/RatingESRB and have serious consequences. Any update without sex, no matter how much content it may have, is (jokingly) seen as a disappointment by those (sarcastically) in favor of this demand.

* Playing the [class name] class.A phrase mimicking the way certain earlier materials, such as the developer commentary, referred to certain classes. Began to see wide usage sometime after 2020 - said verbatim, the phrase is used in an ironic sense to describe earnestly playing any given class exactly according to its original design. For example, in How It FEELS To Play Pyro by LazyPurple, it's used to describe going on the offensive with the flamethrower.

** WARNING: Connection Problem Auto-disconnect in 17.6 secondsLate into March 2020, a sudden surge of lagbots became a problem in Casual as well. These bots would act as a normal Sniper aimbot until a vote is called to kick them, which would trigger it to lag out the server, booting people back to the main menu if they are using default TF2 settings (specifically, a command which increases the timeout disconnection timer). This made it literally impossible to kick the bots, lest they risk the game getting cut off early. Valve would release a patch in April that fixed this, however. After this patch, lagbots have resurfaced repeatedly but were again fixed in later patches.

Adding #savetf2 resurgence, removed the "tiny knife" because no source was given for it and there seemed to be the start of an edit war in response to it

** This returned in January 2024, immediately after Valve issued DMCA takedown notices to two fan projects aimed to bring the game to the Source 2 engine and VR respectively.

* Tiny knife Somebody drew an art of a spy traced from a photo of themselves and posted it on the game's subreddit. Someone else jokingly pointed out that the knife was small and the creator proceded to have a meltdown over this even though it was not even intended as criticism. Thus both "tiny knife" and the OP's responce became memes within the subreddit
** May you please explain this? How on fucking earth was your criticism constructive all you said was essentially "you drew this poorly" other comments literally did exactly what constructive criticism is, criticism that says what can be improved upon. I wish I didn't even get ropes in this, as your previous activity even in this specific subreddit makes you sound like a ultra-asshole. So for your "mentally debilitated child" mind, don't be a dick in your criticism.
