  • Jay's letter to his wife after returning to Uganda, for the first time since the Idi Amin regime, to find that it's no longer home to him, especially after finding out his friend of 34 years was killed during said regime:
Jay: There is so little love in the world, and yet so much. Mina was right: I never said goodbye to him. Now he's dead, Kinnu. Since I've been back, I've thought so much of you. Which is why I say to hell with the lawsuit. Home is where the heart is, and my heart is with you.
    • This is followed by a scene in which Jay is with local Ugandans dancing, a stark contrast to the tyranny of the Amin regime and the environment of being forced to flee the country. One of the locals lets Jay hold his child, and they all smile. He is able to let go of the bitterness he felt since his exile.
