Heartwarming / Dragons' Den

Go To

  • The UK Dragons are prone to these while out of the den:
    • As part of a special for Comic Relief, the Dragons all worked to restore a run-down community centre. And "worked" doesn't mean "simply paid to have the whole place renovated", it means "knuckled down and did the work themselves". They call in a whole horde of entrepreneurs who appeared on the show to make up the workforce, as well as a number of business favours to get new equipment for the place. At the end of the special, the centre's transformed completely, the owners and children are overjoyed, and kids in the area will be less likely to have their lives ruined by drugs, thanks to five millionaires and a load of other businesspeople being willing to do blue-collar work.
    • Next year's Comic Relief special includes such highlights as: Duncan hugging both Peter and Deborah when they arrive at the house where the special's taking place, and Theo talking about how he would love to be able to cook dinner for his family (due to his wife doing the cooking in his household).
  • The U.S. Shark Tank certainly has its moments of Heartwarming from the Sharks too:
    • The creator of Mee-Ma's Gumbo Bricks, Carol Foster, admitted to the Sharks that due to financial troubles, she and her young daughter were forced to either stay at her sister's or sleep in their van. Barbara and Kevin immediately banded together to make a deal.
    • Kevin O'Leary became licensed to perform weddings and has often offered, sometimes jokingly, to marry people that come on the show. A segment on the third episode of the seventh season showed that he finally had the chance to actually do it outside of the show with a couple that he had previously made a deal with on the show and helped to become very successful.
  • The Australian version is also not immune to these:
    • The creator of some high-end custom-made guitars had at least 3 Sharks making him an offer, all around the same amount. Naomi (who had pulled out) was kind enough to offer the creator some advice on what he needed to consider when choosing his investor. This role has seemed to shift over to Andrew in later episodes, regardless of whether he's made an offer or not.
    • While it's not uncommon for entrepreneurs to bring some of their team along (and in the case of one young entrepreneur, her parents), two entrepreneurs actually bought family members along to help them make the final call on which offer to take: the first was a gentleman who had made a weed-killer "pen" inspired by his son's injuries (and bought his son along), while the second was a gentleman who had made a sun-safe coverup to be worn over a cap and bought his wife along. What's more, in both cases they actually bought the family in to meet the Sharks after the offers had been made!
    • One guy came on the show pitching an automated lollipop sign (to be used on a temporary basis in areas where trucks need to come in and out constantly but the road doesn't need to be closed all the time) and asked for a carton of beer and someone to help him launch his product. All five of the Sharks promised him a carton of beer each.
    • The Catch n Release guys came on the show pitching their anchor retrieval invention, which very much pleased the Sharks...right up until the wife admitted that they only had three years left on the patent. This was enough for the Sharks to prompt her to bring her husband in (the inventor) and after some discussion, Glen offered to outright buy the company from them while also ensuring that they would continue to receive an income in the form of royalties. The husband admitted that as long as his invention was out there, that was all that mattered and they took the deal.
