• It looks like all the husbands moving into Stepford already know its secret - at least the general idea if not the gruesome details. But... how does the information spread? Without putting the authorities on the alert?..
  • Possibly the men in the association are well connected and it's all word of mouth, with no physical evidence or paperwork to trace it back to anyone. Stepford is presented as the type of place that a very specific type of person would want to move to, so perhaps anyone looking at a house in the area is interviewed about it, and there's a subtle 'feeling out' process while the husbands work out who they can trust and recruit.
