• How come Cecile's powers weren't able to detect Sue's true intentions?
  • Cecile did mention that she detected thoughts that seemed like Ralph and Sue were totally in mental sync, and it's likely that it was just Ralph she was sensing. It's possible that Sue is a meta that can mask her thoughts, something Cecile has never seen before and wouldn't recognize.
  • It's also possible that at that moment Sue was not deceiving Ralph. At that moment she was enjoying herself and having fun and feeling genuine affection for Ralph, which Cecile picked up on. Perhaps later if Sue had been speaking to Cecile then Cecile could sense that her words did not match her emotions. But at the cafe she was having fun with Ralph and her emotions followed suit.
