- Sophie and Walt go for a spacewalk, with Sophie overcoming her fears. It is revealed that at this time the ship is so close to Mars it is looming very large in the sky. Then the ship is hit by an unknown object and they are close enough to Mars to abandon this ship to safety. It seems odd that going outside the ship like that would be permitted that close to final destination - usually a ship is preparing for docking, checking up on everything and prepping for maintenance.
