  • What was General Eiling trying to a accomplish by becoming a superstrong monster? According to him, he wanted to show the league that they're no longer the only ones with superpowers. Um, what? Did he really expect the League to feel threatened by a single metahuman?
    • Yes. Eiling is both very arrogant and also living in a bubble- he really thinks that the United States government and the United States military are and should be the biggest stick in town and represent the best of humanity, and his ego can't take the fact that the global superpower he signed up to fight for has been superseded by the Justice League. His plan was to fight Superman and beat the crap out of him to show them all that humanity (read- America; read-Eiling himself) should still be taken seriously and can't be easily bossed around or dismissed. Bear in mind this was a desperation move on his part in response to Cadmus voluntarily shutting itself down and Waller come to agree with the League- becoming a monster wasn't exactly Plan A; it was a last-ditched effort to make a point or die trying.
    • His plan was to make himself 'Captain America' the results were a (more) corrupted 'Hulk'.
    • Think of it as a proof of concept prototype. A single victory was all he needed. As long as the government has the serum they can always make more super soldiers.
  • Why did Shining Knight object to being in the parade? In his time, pomp and circumstance, pageantry and processions were a normal part of a knight’s activities.
    • Doesn't mean he enjoyed it then, either. The crowd being more interested in bigger name heroes may also have played a part.
