• Viserys says that no one has any interest in marriage of a family member to Gaemon because of rumours surrounding him. Rumors that no one would be stupid enough to believe that could still pull their pants up on their own.
• No one seems to talk about this, but Gaemon can be an idiot sometimes (a lot of times). Is it Targaryen genes messing with his brain, or is it something else? I mean, he's Improperly Paranoid, and tends to come up with these grand plans that rely on things progressing as (or are based around his knowledge of people in) canon, but then it all goes to hell in a hand-basket because he assumed something false.
