In this episode, Charmcaster tries more than once to switch bodies with Ben, stating that his alien forms would turbocharge her magic. She also states that if Gwen didn’t have a magical aura, Charmcaster wouldn’t be able to do any magic while in her body. Was she just operating on the assumption that Ben has magic potential because his cousin does? Because it’s later stated by Vera in Alien Force that he never had any, and there’s nothing that suggests she’s wrong. Furthermore, what led Charmcaster to believe transforming into a lepidopterran or a pyronite would have any effect on her magic powers? It seems like a lot of effort to go through to be predicated on so many assumptions. Of course, she’d still gain control over the Omnitrix and she’s unapologetically the kind of person you’d want to keep it away from but she also wouldn’t be able to reverse it and, as Charmcaster says: “I love being a witch.”
