    Possessing a descendant
  • When Kordax possesses Orm, why doesn't he just have Orm cut himself to get the blood he needs?
    • One, because he didn’t need to, and two, because Kordax will need to kill Arthur anyway, so why not have Orm do it for him?
    • Alternately he would be smart enough not to do harm to the body he's possessing.

    Possessing an already villainous guy
  • How much is Manta being Manta, and how much is the trident warping his mind? Is the movie implying their version of Manta wouldn't harm a child without the influence of the trident? With Orm, you can easily tell the trident is influencing his mind.
    • It's like with Sivana and the Seven Deadly Sins: the host is already vengeful, the trade is to be possessed and get superpowers to enable his revenge. As for going after the kid, it looks like Manta himself was willing to go that far, to kill everything Aquaman loved.

But he has a power suit?
  • At least twice in the film, Atlanteans express surprise that Black Manta is going to try fighting them without his power suit, but Manta is clearly wearing a power suit in those scenes. The last time, both Arthur and Orm had already faced Manta in his new suit, yet still acted like it wasn't there. This can't be blamed on post-production CGI costume changes, because the fight scenes as filmed involve Black Manta's optic laser; he clearly was intended to be suited up in these fights.
