In the film adaptation, Lady Susan and her friend Alicia are taking a walk when a man approaches the two women and greets Lady Susan.
Man: Lady Susan! Lady Susan: How dare you address me, sir?! Be gone, or I will have you whipped! Alicia: Outrageous! Have you not met him? Lady Susan: No, I know him well. I would never speak to a stranger like that.
In the adaptation, Lady Susan finally does praise her daughter in the final scene:
Lady Susan: Frederica has shown herself to be cunning and manipulative. I couldn't be more pleased.
Alicia affectionately telling Lady Susan that no man truly deserves her. Nobody does!
Pretty much everything out of Sir James Martin's mouth in the adaptation.
