Funny / Aunt Julia and the Scriptwriter

• The novel has a few, but probably one of the best is when Mario, Julia, Javier and Pascual go from town to town looking for somebody who wants to marry Mario and Julia.
• On that arch, the funniest moment is when an iliterate old functionary points out that to solve the above spoilered problem they just could forge Mario's birth certificate so he could appear as legally adult so no civil authority could place objection on him getting married. The description of how the four above realize that they couldn't think of such an obvious solution to their predicament despite being way more educated and allegedly smarter is priceless.
