- The old, homeless man is Father Christmas. The movie takes place around Christmas time, he's the only human the toys are ever shown talking with, his tent is full of toys and he gives some very sage advice to the two about what makes giving gifts truly meaningful. Oh yeah and he looks exactly like him too.
